Product Roadmap

BloomTech Labs Product Roadmap

Each team will be assigned a product. We will break down each section of the product roadmap for clarification. Your product roadmap is a high-level scope of work with a release schedule. The release schedule will be where the core of your work will be focused.

Objective

We will walk through each section of the product roadmap. You can find the roadmap link in your student guide.

Sections

Type

This describes the type of users assigned to the team. Example: DS, Web (node), Web (Java), etc.

Overview

The overview section is a brief introduction to the product from the stakeholder's perspective. The overview provides details about the product and what previous teams accomplished on the product. The overview will conclude with information will also provide scope around what the current team will be working on during their journey.

Stakeholders

The stakeholder section provides the team with contacts for their product team. Each product will have one or more stakeholders.

User Base

The user base section provides the team details around the persona and the users engaged in the product. The product team can understand more about the persona(s) that will use the product and how they use it.

Feature List

The feature list section is the feature roadmap that the assigned team will focus on developing. The columns in the feature list are as follows:

Feature Name

Description

Release

Track

Team

Name of the feature to be released

A detailed description of the feature that the product team will develop.

This section has tags. The tags will call out if the feature is MVP and what release the feature developed is on.

Example: MVP, Release 1.

The track column will show the team role dedicated to this feature.

Example: Web, DS, etc.

The team column will show the product team dedicated to this feature.

Example: Team A, Team B, Team C, etc.
